great stuff is happening...

the adventure continues

yesterday, i called the new town manager of haymarket - i was given his name by one of our own people who said, 'this may be our best starting point.' so i called the manager and told him who i was, what church i was from, where we met each week and what we were planning on doing - building a community center here. his words back to me? 'we would love to talk to you all about doing something like that here.'

that is AWESOME!

i then told him, 'i know you are new and may be busy getting acclimated to your new role, so when would you like to meet?' his reply? 'i'll make time this week.'

so thursday morning, myself and 2 others will be sitting in the haymarket town hall sharing our vision for our church and the community center. the town manager said he would like to bring a couple of people in to chat with us too.

this is cool stuff!

i don't know if you are, but keep praying about the adventure we are on! God is at work in major ways! not just here, but also nationally. what we are doing here in haymarket/dulles/centreville is already beginning to impact lives of people you and i will never meet.

and it will all start here in haymarket with you and i leading the way.

another great day!

another great day at haymarket yesterday - just a good feel from people! some great conversations, some fun stuff up front, people getting involved for the first time, lives being changed - just cool stuff!

and here are the highlights...

number of people yesterday. that is awesome! two weeks in a row with over 250 people! WOW! there are so many new people coming out. make sure you are taking a moment to meet anyone you can.

total in kidzone. everyone i talked to back there said it felt like 200. must have been a little energy around the place!

baptisms last week. how cool is that? and we have others ready to be baptized.

brock bariteau

brock walked into the doors of the church this weekend. i can not tell you how incredible it was to see him walk in through the front door! definitely a miracle! and probably one of the best things about the weekend.

again, good stuff is happening here at new life haymarket so keep doing what you do so well and keep thanking and praying to God!

why do we do that?

some of you may be asking - why do we ask everyone to fill out our connection cards each week? simple. if new people see others filling them out, then they feel more apt to filling them out. its the idea of, 'hey, i don't want to be left out!' simple. at new life, we like simple.

you know what else is simple? when we get information from new people, our retention rate of them sticking around is around 60%. that is REALLY good!
