more than we can see

we are right in the middle of this campaign for our campus - centreville just finished up and is asking their people to wrestle with God in this adventure. dulles finishes up this weekend and will be asking their people to wrestle with God. pray for God to be at work at both these campuses!

that being said, YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS SUNDAY in haymarket! this week, we get to see what these community centers will look like! make sure to be here to see what we are talking about.

it really is great stuff!

looking for land

in all the right places - we are still on the prowl for land in the haymarket/gainesville area. we do know of land for sale (VERY expensive) in the area but are searching for other ways to obtain land.

we are attempting to contact 2 of the biggest land owners in town to see if they will sit down and talk to us about buying/proffering land to us for a community center. who knows what will happen, but we are trying any road where this is no road block. and so far, no road blocks.

keep this in your prayers as we move forward...

pace west school

sits on the eastern line of the town of haymarket on route 55 - it has been there since 1935 with additions over the years. in our first discussion with the town, we were told about pace leaving that location. we thought - and were hoping - they were leaving this summer! but come to find out, they will be heading out in 2010, moving to new digs behind tyler elementary.

why do i tell you this? this may be a potential community center for us! when the time comes, our conversations of today may lead to our community center of tomorrow. the school system has no use of the building or the land, so let's see what God may do!

just keeping you up to date on what may happen...

haymarket town officials

over the last two months - we have spent time talking to haymarket officials about our plans for a community center here. their questions in order...
  1. how is this not a church? (and once we explain the community center)
  2. when are you going to build?
once the vision is laid out - this isn't for our church to use as most churches use their buildings, but for our community to use - all the people we have talked to jump right on board and want to be a part of it. we are moving forward.

right now, we are working to set up a time to meet with other local officials - stirrup and stewart - which we hope will get them on board as we move forward. looking ahead to those discussions!

God stuff

we are right in the middle of this more than we can see campaign - and good stuff - God stuff - is happening! people are wrestling with God in what it looks like for their families to give to the vision of new life and where we feel God is leading us. conversations are taking place outside of new life with people who want to get onboard with our vision and what we are doing. great stuff!

i want to take the next few posts to bring you up to date as to what is going on with our campaign. feel free to ask questions!

245

that is a BIG number - especially when looking at an average for a new church. in 2007, we are averaging 245 people every sunday morning! that is really good! like i have said in the past, churches that are new and stay over 200 grow. it's in the numbers!

so, way to go haymarket!

been away

yes, i have been away for a while - sorry about that. it has been hard to find the time to write lately, so, i will do my best to get back on the wagon and write. i believe it helps keep me accountable and also keeps you up to date on what is happening here at haymarket.

so here goes...
